Instagram Friday with the BruCrew

I love my phone camera…
it is always with me and fits so much better in my purse than the big DSLR.
The cell phone makers knew what they were doing
when they added cameras and apps.
I’m so addicted.
I love being a mom!!!
God has blessed me three great kids
and I am so thankful for each one them and their personalities.
Every year it is tradition to take pictures on mothers day…
can you tell which child really did not want to be in the pictures?
Why yes, it is the curly headed little mini me hiding in the background:-)
Little stinkers.
After years of training them with my camera,
you would think it would be easier to get them to smile on cue
and to not look like they are in pain. Not so.
After the camera torture, we spent a lazy day of doing a whole lot of nothing.
Best day of relaxing…then we went running.
Haha! Actually the running wasn’t too bad.
The kids rode their bikes ahead of us as we jogged and talked.
I had to wear my tough mudder shirt proudly!
It isn’t very often that you run 10 miles and crawl through mud in November…
that shirt gets worn A LOT!!!
My youngest little guy is always asking to bake with me…
after seeing him grab the bowl, the spatula, and the blade the other night,
I am pretty sure it isn’t my company he is after:-)
I think he just really likes to “clean up” for me!
It’s ok because I love to hang out with him, let him crack the eggs
and dump in all the ingredients.
He is getting really good at measuring stuff too.
Future foodie…I think so:-)
It is officially garage sale season.
My girlie and I got up early on a Saturday
(that almost never happens here with both of us, because we are very good at sleeping in)
and headed out to a huge neighborhood wide sale.
Thank goodness for pony tails and cute Trendy Owl headbands
(yes, that is shameless self promoting going on there)
because no way were we getting up any earlier than we had too.
My favorite stop of the day…
the house where the lady had a big table full of stuff for free.
She was even pulling sale stickers off stuff
from other tables and putting them on there.
Garage sales must not be her thing.
I was able to score a fun rubber stamp, a few cookbooks,
some food magazines, and some sewing patterns.
We didn’t actually see much we needed, but it was fun to just hang out.
I never ever EVER want to do stairs again!!!
A friend of mine called and asked me to go do stairs with her
instead of going running.
I thought to myself sure why not.
I have been running and do exercising, no problem.
So, I went and did 30 minutes of up and down this enormous hill of stairs.
It was a little tiring but not too bad.
All day long I waited for the pain to set in, but it didn’t happen.
UNTIL the next morning!!!
I got up and could barely walk because my calves were so tight and sore.
Now the smart thing to do would be rest for days on the couch
consoling myself with brownies and ice cream.
But no, I decide more running would probably help.
Nope!
Didn’t help at all, and I was hobbling for a few more days after that.
Needless to say, I said a huge NO
when she wanted me to do it again 4 days later.
We love having little minions.
Seriously ever since watching Despicable Me,
we have jokingly called our kids “the minions”.
Lately we have been giving them some more chores to do.
Partly because they are earning vacation money,
but more so because they are getting older
and need to have some more responsibilities.
Gummy bears and skewers always happen
when we go out to eat at Golden Corral.
This is the kids favorite restaurant of all.
I can think of sooo many better places to go,
but we let them choose every once in a while….
even though we already know the answer when we ask.
I finally got tired of buying the tiny little bottle of sprinkles
and using it all up on one baked treat.
So, when I saw this huge bottle at Gordon’s, it had to come home with me.
I wonder how long a pound and a half of colored goodness will last?
Probably not long,
because now I want to put sprinkles on every single thing I eat:-)
life rearranged

  1. I love the giant jar of sprinkles. I think I’m going to head to GFS just for that!
It’s so fun watching your life through instagram :)

  2. Great pictures! The Mother’s Day one is so cute. I love the cute guy hiding behind you. A gummy bear skewer? Do not let my kids see that. They already conned me into making smores in our fireplace this past winter. Have a great weekend!

  3. This is such a fun post! Your kids are super cute, as always. And I have no idea how long that sprinkle jar would last in my house. If we’re being honest, sometimes I’m known to just eat sprinkles plain soooo I’m guessing maybe a day or two–tops–and that’s on a good day! :)

  4. Stairs. Ouch. I hate that pain the worst, because I feel like an old lady who needs a hand rail when I go to the bathroom.

Your kids are adorable. That gummy string is so something Jordan would do!

  5. Our kids love going to Golden Corral as well…I am always surprised they dont ask us to not come back :) Happy weekend!

  6. such cute pictures of your sweet family!

so glad you joined us for embrace the camera :)
