Dinner is the one meal that I have to think long and hard about preparing. I would much rather be in the kitchen baking brownies or cookies. My family keeps reminding me that those do not make good dinner choices. So, I am always looking for easy and delicious ways to help me out in the kitchen.
I was recently sent a few Crock Pot Cuisine meals to test out on my family. Any meal that comes already chopped and ready to go gets an A+ in my book.
Preparing these meals is as easy as opening the packaged bags and reading the directions. You add the meat and veggies into your Crock Pot (a 4 qt. is recommended) with a half a cup of water and set your timer. You have the option of having dinner ready in 4 or 8 hours.
Dinner cooks itself while you have the rest of the day to finish those dishes, laundry, or catch up on a good book.
Meals this easy are perfect for busy days. I love having a dinner ready to go when we walk in the door from school. We like to have family dinner every night of the week. It is our time to catch up on what happened that day in school. Not having to prep dinner means we can enjoy a little bit more time together in the evening.
Last night we gave the Creole-Style Andouille Sausage and Chicken a try for dinner. I loved opening the bags and seeing plenty of chunks of meat. The frozen chopped veggies looked high quality and still had great color. I started the Crock Pot meal in the early afternoon, and 4 hours later we were ready to eat a fresh hot meal.
This meal tasted amazing. I loved the slight spicy flavor that complimented the meat and veggies. We also added more grilled chicken along with the meal because we have 5 in our family. The box says it feeds 4 adults, but we thought the servings seemed better suited to 3 adults if you didn’t have any extras with dinner.
Crock Pot Cuisine meals are prepared with all natural ingredients and are preservative free. Based on the servings per adult, it is a very healthy dinner option as well. This prepared meal came out to around 200 calories each.
