**Giveaway has ENDED**
I was contacted a while ago about reviewing a product from
House on a Hill.
Now of course I had never heard of this
particular baking company…
so I headed over and found
the CUTEST cookie molds!
Have you heard of Springerle cookies?
It’s ok. I hadn’t either.
They are a delicious cookie that I kinda
found to be a cross between a
shortbread and a sugar cookie
that is formed with a wooden cookie mold.
They might look difficult, but believe me
theywere pretty easy to make up…even when talking on the phone.
(yes, I multi-task when baking)
Of course when you are cutting them out…
it might be better to have 2 hands free.
Just a thought:-)
Make sure you have plenty of time because
there is a little prep work and the cookies actually have to
dry out some before baking.
(I just put them on a towel in the fridge overnight
and that seemed to work out great)
I chose the lemon flavor to try out!
We loved how it was a very faint lemon flavor…
very subtle but delicious.
I made some up for my niece’s tea party birthday this past weekend.
These cookies just said tea party to me.
For an added flair, I dipped some in purple chocolate
and added a lemon glaze to some other ones.
(my oldest actually liked them plain, so I left a few for him)
((he made me laugh because he called them soap bar cookies))
Trust me, they don’t taste like soap at all…
I think it was the shape he was referring too:-)
I wish I had thought to take a better picture of the cookies
by themselves…but I guess I slacked off in that area….
probably had something to do with a bday party going on:-)
