4th of July Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

These easy 4th of July Rice Krispie Treats are cut into a fun star shape and decorated with red, white, and blue M&M's. Be the star of every picnic when you show up at summer picnics with a pan of these easy no bake treats.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 - 10 ounce bag miniature marshmallows (6 cups)
  • 5 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 - 10 ounce bag white chocolate melts
  • 1 bag Red White and Blue M&M's

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick baking spray.
  2. Place the butter in a large pot and heat over low heat until melted.
  3. Stir in the marshmallows and continue to heat over low heat until melted and creamy.
  4. Add the cereal and stir until everything is coated.
  5. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan. Spray your hands with nonstick spray and press firmly yet gently into the pan.
  6. Let cool completely. Use a 3 1/2 inch star cookie cutter to cut out 12 stars. Place them on wax paper. Roll the remaining scraps into 12 balls.
  7. Melt the white chocolate melts according to the package directions.
  8. Dip the tops of the stars one at a time in the melted chocolate. Add red, white, and blue M&M's to the tops and let set.
