A few weeks ago, my daughter and I took a road trip to Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas. Actually, it's been more like a month ago. Wow, time sure flies when you are having fun...or when you are busy, huh?
All you Fixer Upper fans know this place well, right? I have watched a few episodes of the show, and I am a big fan of all of Chip and Joanna's work.
So, when my sister and sister-in-law said they were taking a trip out to the market before my sister moved, we decided it was worth the drive to go with them. Man, I just realized that we never took a group photo of all of us there!
Of course, it was over spring break, and I think everyone else had the same idea for some shopping fun. The place was crazy busy! I'm not sure how many buses we saw unloading at the gates as we walked up and waited in line.
The line to get in was insane! We stood in line for about 2 hours just to get to the front door. At least it was a gorgeous day with lots of sunshine and plenty of fun things to look at, and everyone there was so friendly and nice!
How cool are those old silos and the rusted Magnolia sign? I love the look of the rust and the blue skies behind it!
My niece and daughter were troopers while we waited in line. Thank goodness there was a big grassy area with games and swings for them to check out.
There is also a cute little garden area with flowers and plants that will be opening soon that they wandered through a few times.
And of course, fun food trucks always make waiting in line a little bit better.
I wanted to get a crepe or a grilled cheese, but we opted for fruit smoothies instead. The cold drinks sounded so much better since it was pretty toasty waiting in line.
One thing that I thought was pretty neat was that the employees were walking around passing out free water bottles to all the guests in line. It's the little things like that, that make places like that more enjoyable.
Finally after waiting in line for so long, we made it to the front door. Time to do some shopping!!!
Believe me, there is so much cute stuff that you will want to fill your shopping bag with. Flowers, pots, all kinds of metal decor, signs, plates, napkins, and so many more accessories.
I had to show some restraint though because 1. my wallet was only so big and 2. I don't have room for everything.
I am still thinking about the awesome metal Bakery sign. Every time I look at this picture, I kind of wish I had bought it. Maybe on another road trip to Magnolia Market is needed...

Dearly love your stories, but I just cannot see myself waiting so long to get into a store!!! Must have been worth it, an so glad you shared it.

It was a fun trip! Thank goodness for a nice sunny day and sisters to wait in line with!!!

Isn't it a gorgeous store/complex? We were in the Waco area in January and I loved the market...Lots of wonderful things to pretty up the house with. We are moving from Oregon to Temple Texas soon and I can't wait to get a few things from Magnolia to decorate with. Visiting some of the antique stores that Joanna frequents is another thing on my to-do list! We love Fixer Upper and the Gaines family is the main reason we watch it.

It was such a pretty facility! I can't wait to go back...some of the antique stores are on my list of to do's too!!!

I must have been there the same time as you. I was amazed at the crowds. But the wait was worth it. Such nice things and I got inspired to redecorate my bedroom. Road trips are good for the soul and imagination.
Hope you can bring this over to What'd You Do This Weekend tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing,
Linda

If I didn't live so far away I would be there in a second. I love Fixer Upper.

It's probably a good thing it takes me at least 6 hours to get there. Dangerous stuff, I tell you 😉
