Beware the Girl Scouts...
They are out in full force trying to sell you little boxes of goodness!
I did my duty and purchased a few boxes
from some of the girls in our church.
(even though I can't believe the cost for such a tiny treat)
But then I think how much I pay for a drink at Starbucks,
and that only lasts 30 minutes.
At least the box of cookies will last longer if we ration them.
Now when I head to Walmart,
I have to keep my head down.
Can't make any eye contact with the girls on the sidewalk!
Gotta pretend like there is a dire emergency...
I just have to get in fast!
If you walk like you are on a mission, you can bypass them
without buying more cookies.
Funny thing...I probably filled my cart with
all sorts of sugar items once I got into Wally World!
So the other day I had some vanilla cake batter left from a cake order,
and I decided to play around with a few flavors and bake ins.
This one has a Tagalong cookie
baked in the bottom and is topped with the
Best Honey Peanut Butter Frosting!
Yes they were amazing!
If you have extra boxes of GS cookies...
walk, no run to your kitchen.
You wanted to bake today, right???

Oh wow! I was a Girl Scout from Brownies all the way up through Senior scouts & an adult coleader of my old troop after I graduated and I have never seen a Tagalong given such great treatment! I haven't seen the Girl Scouts out yet up here, but when they are, we always buy our share of boxes.....they freeze fantastically and last for months (well, unless DH gets a sweet tooth attack! lol)! :>
Manni

Um, I kind of just want to make the frosting and eat it! Sounds yummy! I haven't seen the girl scouts out and about yet. I'm hoping to avoid them this year. ๐

what a great idea and they look so yummy, I will have to try them. Although I haven't bought girl scout cookies since my kids grew up and moved out, I just can't justify spending that much on a box of cookies, I find other ways to support my girl scouts. Thanks for the idea.

You had me at Honey Peanut Butter Cream! This sounds oh so delicious! Now I wish I bought tagalongs...though I think I can find some other excuse to make the frosting. Thanks for sharing!

Oh my WORD! That cupcake looks so dangerous! I have to admit, I am a Girl Scout Leader. When you talk about walking in the store with your head down - this makes me laugh! You're not the only one! I think I've done this too. My girls are young 8-9yrs and so excited to sell their cookies. I think I will make this for our Friday meeting! :o) Thanks for sharing and I'm a new follower :o) from http://myurbancorner.blogspot.com/
