Monster Cookie Dough Popcorn Munch

I have the funniest…ok, maybe the dorkiest habit…
chocolate covered popcorn, sweet recipes, dessert recipes
you are going to laugh at me…

but that’s ok because my family cracks up all the time.
Want to know what it is???

I talk to myself.  Like all the time.
And not a silent whisper either.
Oh, it’s a whisper…just kind of out loud:-)
My husband and my kids always like to let me know when it happens.
They think it is super hilarious to stand behind me
and listen to me go on and on.
Ok, fine it probably is.

The other day I was driving somewhere on some sort of errand.
Who am I kidding, I was probably going one of 2 places.
The grocery store for more baking goodies or Goodwill for fun photo props.
Oh wait, it could have been Target…just because…
because really I don’t need a reason to go there other than I love the place.

Anyway, where doesn’t matter.
Apparently I was having one of those strange conversations with myself
because my youngest piped up and said, “Mom, are you talking to yourself again?”
“I can talk to you if you want.”
Isn’t he the cutest?

Yes, I am well aware what a dork this makes me sound like.
Hey, just keeping it real here.

Honestly I can’t even tell you what I talk to myself about…
I think sometimes my brain can’t keep up with whatever I am thinking
and it just comes out.  I think it is mostly recipe stuff, what I have to do, what I want to do,
what I would say in situations…you know, normal stuff.

Ok, let’s move onto a better habit that I have:-)

I like to make popcorn munch!!!  Like a lot!
So far there are 5 different versions on my recipe page,
this makes #6…and I have ideas for a few more:-)
Hope you all like this stuff as much as I do.

This one just might be my all time favorite one…
and that’s saying a lot because I made a Reeses one a while ago that kicks some butt!!!

But this one…oh this one…was so good it just melted in your mouth!
If you are in the market for a sugar high…I recommend going this route.
It was definitely monsterously delicious!!!

Oh, the biscoff, the oatmeal, the cookie dough bites, m&m’s, chocolate chips…
all your favorite cookie stuff in one popcorn bowl.
Now I have myself convinced to make another batch:-)

I suggest making this one this weekend.
Although you just might want to double the batch…
since I guarantee you will eat the first one all by yourself as soon as you taste it.

Not that I would know anything about that though;-)

Want some more popcorn munch goodness???

  1. Yum! THis look SO GOOD Jocelyn! Man, would I ever love to go a movie and sneak a big bag of this in to munch on in my purse! Everything you make looks so amazing! Have a fantastic weekend! Angie xo

  2. love a good white chocolate + microwave + popcorn combo…this is perfect for me :)

  3. I love that you talk to yourself … I hum ALL.THE.TIME. Like even in the bathroom at work, ha ha. I just always have a song stuck in my head :) Oh, and that popcorn munch looks sinfully delicious!

  4. Oh my word. And you use the Biscoff spread in it too!! I love that stuff. Thank you so much for sharing at Weekend Potluck!

  5. Jocelyn, you come up with the CUTEST snacks and desserts in the world. Your kids are SO lucky to have such a creative mommy! This looks completely to die for. I feel like I’d want to sneak some into the movies with me hehe!

  6. I talk to myself too! ALL the time. I like to call it “thinking out loud.” :) This popcorn…Jocelyn I think you’ve outdone yourself this time!!!!

  7. Here’s to another wonderful recipe. You’re amazing and by the way, talking to yourself, NORMAL!

  8. Yep, this is my new favorite popcorn munch of yours, too! I am freaking.out over the cookie dough bites and the biscoff–I think I could polish it off pretty quickly, but that’s just because your popcorn munches always look SO awesome! And no fear, doll–I talk to myself ALL the time too! Like, legitimate conversations. Usually it’s a little lower than a normal conversation, almost like a louder mumble, but it’s mostly about ideas, recipes, where I have to run errands, what outfits that belt would go with, where I could store those plates, etc. And it’s everywhere, but usually more embarrassing in stores when I’m talking to the shirt saying “well I could wear it with those black pants, or that polka dot skirt…” hahaha so funny!

    • I definitely recommend making a double batch for that very reason! It will just disappear:-). Your convos to yourself sound just like mine!!! Glad I’m not the only one who does it in stores too;-)

  9. OMG! This looks wonderful! Another excellent creation we have to make. I will eat the entire batch – yikes!

  10. So I say to myself, “Make this girlfriend!” and I answer “Sounds good to me!” LOL!

  11. Don’t fear, I self-talk also. Like, alot. But the worst is when I’m at work, with my earbuds in and start having a conversation with myself…forgetting that my coworkers can’t hear my music, but can in fact, hear me. Embarassing! Yet…I keep doing it. =) And this popcorn munch?!?! With cookie dough bites and Biscoff?? I NEED THIS NOW!

    • I am feeling much better knowing that you guys have this crazy habit too:-) I’m sure people look at me funny in the stores because sometime I forget others are around! Any yes, you need this popcorn STAT!

  12. Oh yum… this look so good, Jocelyn! Can’t wait to make some!

I talk to myself in the car. Mostly naughty things about other drivers though. I have to watch myself when my boys are in the car with in. ;)

  13. I love that your son said he would talk to you :) Too cute and this popcorn looks ridiculously yummy

  14. Your son is too sweet! What a little cutie pie. Stopping by to tell you I have two awards for you over on the blog today. :) http://www.hubbymademe.com/blog-awards/

  15. This popcorn looks delicious!

  16. I talk to myself all the time, and told hubby just today while we were going to the Restore for me to buy stuff to recycle, that when I am older and in the nursing home, i will be talking to myself even more, and might write a book about it, cuz i can come up with some fun stuff.

Thanks for the cool recipe! Gotta tryit!

    Hugs, Laurel

  17. Uh, YUM!! This stuff sounds and LOOKS amazing! I would be a guest in your kitchen aaaaannnnnnyyyyyyy time! :)

  25. What is Biscoff cookie spread?

  26. This looks so yummy! Also I just want to let you know that I think your pink bowls are absolutely adorable!! Where did you get them?!

  27. HI! I am making this in 2 days but I am not sure where to find Biscoff? Is it carried at grocery stores? Thanks!

  28. I have never seen Biscoff here in Canada. (never even heard of it until I started to read food blogs!) Do you think it would work just as well with something like Nutella? Is that the same consistency?

    • Biscoff is a cookie spread. The consistency is like peanut butter. Nutella should work too…hhhmmm…you have just given me some more ideas:-)

  29. This sounds insanely awesome. This is the first time I’ve heard of Cookie Dough candy. Do most grocery stores carry it? I’m afaid that “slimming down” is not going to make it onto my New Year’s resolution list. But the good news is that trying all of your recipes will probably be right up there at the top!! One other question, would omitting the oats significantly alter the awesomeness of this recipe? Thanks for all of your inspiring ideas! Happy New Year to you and your family!

    • Jocelyn Brubaker says:

Hi, Laurie. I have a feeling “slimming down” isn’t going to happen very fast here either. I found the Cookie Dough candy bites at Walmart in the candy aisle. It is in a movie theatre style box. And leaving the oats out won’t change it too much. Happy New Year to you as well:-)

  30. Wow…. this looks delightful! Like a ton of fun for a movie night :) Ruthie

  31. will microwave popcorn work?

  32. You are so creative! This looks absolutely delicious!
