Pumpkin Spice Latte Krispie Treats

Pumpkin Spice Latte Krispie Treats - rice krispie treats go to a whole new level with pumpkin marshmallows, coffee, and white chocolate
Have you had a chance to try the pumpkin spice marshmallows?  Run to the store and buy yourself a bag.  Try one.  Now put one in your hot chocolate.  Good huh?  Okay, scratch that…you are going to need two bags of the pumpkin marshmallows.  One to enjoy in your hot chocolate and one to make these Pumpkin Spice Latte Krispie Treats.
I was going through some old pictures and realized that I never shared these bad boys with you last year.  That’s not cool!

White Chocolate Reese’s Krispie Hearts

White Chocolate Reese's Krispie Hearts

I love Rice Krispie treats.
Like, love them so much I can’t stop eating them until they are gone.  It’s bad people.
Bad for the jeans in my life that is.  Me on the other hand…
well, I am good with more krispies in my life.
I should probably stop making them when no one is home with me.

Today’s White Chocolate Reese’s Krispie Hearts will make you want to eat the entire batch in one day.  What?  That’s not normal to do?

White Chocolate Reese's Krispie Hearts

This batch of rice krispie treats starts out like a regular pan of krispies, but at the last minute you add a box of white chocolate pudding into the melted marshmallows.  Pour in the cereal and stir until coated.  Go ahead and press the hot mixture into a buttered pan.  Yes, go ahead and lick the spoon.  You know you want to.

But…you probably are going to burn your tongue.  I know, because I do it every single time I make krispie treats.

White Chocolate Reese's Krispie Hearts

I was at Target the other day and I just couldn’t resist buying a bag of the Reese’s hearts.  Not that I can resist regular Reese’s, but there is something about cute fun shapes that makes me buy them even more.  I didn’t have any idea what I was going to make with them.  I just knew they had to come home with me.  (Please tell me I am not alone in my random candy buying!!!)

White Chocolate Reese's Krispie Hearts

Enter the White Chocolate Rice Krispies cooling on the counter.  All of a sudden I knew I wanted to share my love of krispies, CandiQuik, and Reese’s all in one glorious ADORABLE treat!   You start by cutting the white chocolate krispies into a heart shape just slightly bigger than the Reese’s hearts.  Then drizzle the tops of the krispie hearts with white CandiQuik and drop a Reese’s heart on the top.  (go ahead and eat the rest of the Reese’s while the chocolate is setting…I won’t tell :-)

Super easy!  And so stinking cute!!!

White Chocolate Reese's Krispie Hearts

The bonus part of cutting hearts from these white chocolate krispies???

Someone has to eat all the scraps!
It’s a rough job, but someone has to do it.  ;-)

Ok, so I did something a little out of the ordinary…
for a shy person that is.
I know that most of you here would never have guessed that I am actually really a shy person.

It’s true…I am really truly shy and find it hard to talk to people in real life.
Thank goodness I talk to most of you through my computer.
Otherwise I would be stuttering and turning red…
and then quite possibly it would all end in tears and embarrassment.

I am much better one on one…most of the time.

blog besties

So, for the past 5-6 months Aimee (from Shugary Sweets) and I
have been scheming when and where we could meet up since we only live 3 hours apart.
Finally I offered to drive out there and visit…she lives near IKEA after all.
Duh, super no brainer.  Meet up with the most awesome bloggy friend…and shop IKEA!

Now that puts me totally outside of my comfort zone…
going out on a branch and driving to meet someone you have never met before.  Yikes!!!
I was a little bit nervous that morning.

But Aimee and I have been commenting on each others blogs and emailing
for about a year and a half…so I totally felt like I knew her.
We have so much in common we are practically twins:-)

Let me tell you what…she is 100 times more awesome in person:-)
We had THE best time that day…going through IKEA first.
Then she took me to this huge grocery store thingy called Jungle Jim’s…
such a way cool place.  You could find anything and everything food related there.

And then we just went back to her house, so our kids could play while we chatted…
oh, and we ate yummy snacks:-)  Boy! Were they yummy!
She had cupcakes, cake, and fudge…oh, the cinnabon fudge.
Totally to die for…seriously THE.BEST.FUDGE.EVER!!!
and I have had a lot of fudge in my life:-)

(Guess what?  She posted the recipe for it today,
so head HERE for the yummy stuff and a way to win some cinnabon goodness )

Now as a good foodie friend, I had to bring her some yummy treats too.
I had some of these Caramel Pretzel Brownie Cheesecakes still in my fridge,
so those came with me to get rid of them share.

But I also wanted to take something else too…
not just something that was in my fridge from the day before.
I knew that Aimee’s favorite treat is the all mighty rice krispie treat…
so that was what was going along for the drive too.

And to top it all off I made the krispies based off her favorite candy bar too…the 100 Grand bar.
Loads of caramel, crisp rice, and all topped with a milk chocolate layer…
oh and sprinkles,  because they just make it look so much cuter:-)

I had such a fun day hanging with Aimee and getting to know her even better.
Our kids had a blast hanging out…helps that they are all the same age.
And they can’t wait for us to do “hang” again.
So, I definitely see us meeting up again very soon.
Next time though, the kids will be in school and we are headed on a bakery crawl.
Totally can’t wait for that!!!

Yup, best blog buds for sure!!!!!

Candy Bar Stuffed Rice Krispie Treats

There are times when you want a candy bar,
and times when you want a rice krispie treat.
What if we combined them into Candy Bar Stuffed Rice Krispie Treats?
Call me crazy, but these are so awesome!!!
Candy Bar Stuffed Rice Krispie Treats | Inside BruCrew Life
Today you can have the candy bar AND the rice krispie treat,
and no one will look at you funny for eating 2 treats.
Need a wild and crazy dessert combo?
Stuffed rice krispie treats are just the thing for you!!!
They will definitely make people do a double take
when you show up with them for the next picnic.
My mind is going crazy with every candy bar combo possible:-)
For this version I went with the peanut butter snickers
because it has quickly become one of my favorite candy bars.
In fact, I can’t buy bags of them unless they are going right into baking…
For some reason I can’t resist eating them ALL.
They disappear faster than you can say snickers.
Please tell me someone else has this problem:-)

The best thing about these treats
is that you can put them together in no time at all!
Seriously it will take you longer to go to the store to buy the ingredients.
But it will be totally worth it when you bite into that first one.

I predict you won’t be able to stop at just one ;-)
Candy Bar Stuffed Rice Krispie Treats

Yield: 24 bars

Candy Bar Stuffed Rice Krispie Treats

Traditional rice krispie treats with a layer of candy bars in the middle.

7 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
5 Tablespoons butter
7 1/2 cups rice krispie cereal
24 peanut butter Snickers candy bars, fun sized

  1. In a large sauce pan melt the butter and marshmallows over medium heat. Continue to stir until it is creamy. Add the cereal and stir until completely coated. Divide the mixture in half. Press half the cereal into a buttered 9×13 pan. Lay the candy bars end to end and cover the cereal.
  2. Drop the rest of the cereal on top of the candy bars and press down quickly. Let cool completely before cutting into 24 bars. Store on the counter in a sealed container for 5-6 days.

There will be gaps between each candy bar when you lay them out. Use butter on your hands to keep the cereal from sticking to you.

Almond Joy Krispie Treats

I have a bone to pick with the video game creators.
In fact I am down right upset with them!!!
I do not understand the need to put half naked women into a video game!!!
My sons are 8 and 12…
there is absolutely no reason they need to see games and the
game magazines tainted with these inappropriate pictures!!!
As parents of 2 boys, we are very careful about the things that
they see and do. And sadly now it is everywhere!!!
These magazines have been coming for a few months now,
and at first there was just a few outfits that I thought were slightly
distasteful for a game.
But the magazine that just came today…
had a lady very terribly dressed right on the back cover.
And there were quite a few pictures inside of women barely covered!
What’s a parent to do???
Rip every single offending picture out and tear them to smithereens!!!!
And definitely don’t renew that subscription!!
I know that they are going to see and hear things that are
very inappropriate as they get older, but
for now we can shield them from these disgusting displays!!!
Seriously can’t kids play games without having to worry about
a video game girl’s chest filling the screen???
Uuuugggg!!!! So not happy right now!
Whatever happened to Frogger and the old Mario?
I might need more of these treats to calm my irritations:-)
Last week I was able to guest post for my friend Aimee (Shugary Sweets)
and I made her these awesome rice krispie treats
because they are like her favorite homemade goodie!!!
Today is your lucky day
because now I am sharing them with you here too.
Do you like coffee?
Do you like coconut?
Do you like marshmallows?
Would you like all three in the best rice krispie treat ever?
(I know that is kind of presumptuous to claim the best ever!)
But seriously if you like all these flavors…
make them this weekend!
I have a sneaking suspicion that you will agree they are the best!
Just be careful…
they are highly addictive:-)

Chocolate Mojo Bars

Do you get inspired by things you are eating?
A couple weeks ago I was on my way to pick up
our kids from school, so I grabbed a Cliff Mojo bar
as I ran out the door.
I was just driving along minding my own business
munching away on my bar.
There are quite a few red lights on the way

and as I sat at one of them

a lightbulb went off!!!
The Mojo Bar resembles a rice krispy treat!!!

What a fun way to change up an easy no bake item.

So on the next shopping trip I stocked up on items

to recreate this bar.
There is a difference though…the Mojo bar is a healthy snack
and I would love to tell you mine is healthy too…
but something about adding butter and marshmallows
to healthy items… it kinda ramps up the fat factor.
But that’s ok because with all the extra shopping
you are doing this month, you need a little more
healthy fats in your diet.
Just think of these as power bars to help you
make it through all those shopping trips!
So go ahead and make these and then
put them in your purse for when the cravings hit
and you are stuck in line at the store or post office.
You will thank me later!
Chocolate Mojo Bars
3 Tbsp. butter
4 c. mini marshmallows
3 c. chocolate rice krispie cereal
1 c. sunflower seeds
1 c. chopped peanuts
1 c. chopped pretzels
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips
2 tsp. butter
In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the cereal, seeds, peanuts, and pretzels. Lightly press into a buttered 9×13 pan and let set. Melt the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Spread on top. Cut into bars. Store in an airtight container.

Mocha Frosted Flakes Treats

Summer is in full force here.
90* plus some!!!
With all this sun and heat that means
lots of swimming and pool therapy!!!!
So far we have been to the pool twice
and have some light redness and freckles
to prove it:-)

Ya gotta love sitting at the pool and
just looking around at the people and
suits that they choose to wear.
I mean seriously…
do some of these people not look in the mirror
when they buy a swim suit?
Some are like train wrecks…
you just can’t look away!!!

But who wants that kind of image
burned in their brain, so let’s talk sweets!
This one might haunt you until you make it.
When I started thinking about it,
I had to make it RIGHT AWAY!!!

Now because I am kind of a baking junkie…
I seem to always have most of the things I need
in one of my cupboards when inspiration strikes.
LOL! You never know
when a baking emergency might come up:-)

Mocha Frosted Flakes Treats

3 tbsp. butter
10 oz. mini marshmallows
2-3 tbsp. instant coffee
6 cups chocolate frosted flakes
2 c. mini m&m’s

Butter a cookie pizza pan or a 9×13 glass pan. Set aside. Place butter in a sauce pan and heat on medium heat until the butter melts. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in the instant coffee until dissolved. Add the cereal and stir again until the cereal is coated. Quickly stir in 1 c. mini m&m’s. Press into prepared pan using wax paper. Sprinkle the top with the other cup of m&m’s. Press them into the cereal lightly so they stick. Let set up for about an hour. Cut into wedges or squares depending on what pan you used:-) Enjoy!
