Looking for a way to use up all those bowls of candy from the past weekend? We used some of ours to make Butterfinger Blondies. Blonde brownies, candy, and chocolate will make these yummy bars disappear in a hurry.
Are you still recovering from the sugar rush of the past week?
Our kids made out with a huge bag of candy, and they put a pretty good dent in it over the weekend. I take no responsibility for the sugar comas that might have happened because I was traveling.
I guess devouring your candy at lightening speed is one way to get rid of it.
I did snag an extra bag of Butterfinger Bars to pass out, but then these blonde brownies happened. They were seriously the best things ever. I am pleading the fifth when it comes to saying how many I snacked on. Let's just say it wasn't one 😉
I used my basic blonde brownie recipe. It's the same one I used when I made these M&M Blonde Brownies. (You should make those too...just saying.) Then, I added the entire bag of crushed Butterfinger candy bars. Yup, you read that right. An entire bag!!! Woah!
And then, because it just wasn't crazy enough already...I added a chocolate frosting glaze. Oh, my! Talk about yum to the oh. My chubby little fingers couldn't stay out of the pan of these.
You can make your own pan by finding the leftover bags of candy, digging out all the Butterfinger bars, and making your own pan. I'm telling you, it's so worth it.
Recipe
Butterfinger Blondies
Peanut butter and Butterfinger candy bars take these blonde brownies to a new level. The chocolate glaze on top will have you drooling as you bite into bar after bar.
Ingredients
- ยฝ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ยฝ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon table salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups crushed Butterfinger candy bars (11.5 oz bag fun size)
- ยฝ cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 ยผ cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick baking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and peanut butter until creamy. Add the eggs, vanilla, and salt and beat again.
- Stir the baking powder and flour and slowly add to the butter mixture until incorporated. Add the crushed Butterfinger bars and stir by hand gently.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 23-24 minutes for a metal pan or 18-20 minutes for a metal pan. Remove and let cool completely (3-4 hours).
- Pour the whipping cream into a small saucepan and bring to a very low boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate chips until melted and creamy.
- Spread over the top of the cooled blonde brownies. Let set before cutting into bars. Store in a sealed container on the counter.

I heart butterfingers so much too. No one else likes them in the family, so I think I am going to have to sift through the halloween candy and make these asap. And don't worry I wouldn't eat only one too. But I stuff my face before the family gets home and sees. Hehe.
Jocelyn Brubaker
Haha! I hope you do make these, they were crazy good! ๐

Halloween is about the only time of year when I regret moving to the country. We don't have any trick-or-treaters come to our house, so no leftover candy:( Pair that with my kids being too old to trick or treat and it's a sad situation... I love blondies and these look perfect, especially with a whole bag of Butterfingers inside!
heather+@french+press
I'd rather have them eat it all and get it our of the house - that way I can't eat it ๐ but I would have loved a few butterfingers to makes these bars

There is nothing that I love more than throwing gobs of candy into a blondie! Or any baked good. These look phenomenal.
And I'm thinking that your kids have the right idea, gobbling up all the candy before their food blogger mom can get to it for recipes!

We didn't buy any Halloween Candy this year. It felt weird. (we weren't home). On the bright side, not tempted by all the candy. On the dark side, I need candy.
Michelle @ My California Kitchen
