This easy Nutella Pop Tarts recipe makes a fun breakfast treat. You will only need a few ingredients to make a homemade treat that looks and tastes better than the store bought version. Your family will be so impressed with your kitchen skills.
Nutella is one of my favorite foods to indulge in! Our cupboards are always full of the yummy, creamy, chocolatey goodness in a jar.
I can't believe it took me so long to get on the Nutella train. It's fantastic in homemade pop tarts and banana Nutella quesadillas.
Or maybe just to eat with a spoon right from the jar. What??? You know you do it too! Wink, wink!
It is made with skim milk, so it has to be good for you.
I grew up eating boxed pop tarts and still like them. Crazy, I know.
There is something so comforting about eating one for breakfast with a Coconut Nutella Latte or in the afternoon.
(my fav are the cookie dough ones...mmmmm)
Our kids love these little breakfast goodies, too.
They are the perfect grab-and-go snack for mornings when everyone runs a little behind.
I decided to try making a homemade pop tart stuffed with Nutella. Mainly because those were the few ingredients I had on hand.
How to Make Nutella Pop Tarts
- Unroll the pie crust and cut each into eight rectangles for a total of 16. You may need to re-roll the dough to get enough.
- Fill eight rectangles with Nutella and top with the other eight dough rectangles.
- Use a fork to press together the edges before baking.
- Let the pastries cool completely before topping them with melted white chocolate.
Chocolate drizzles and sprinkles made these fun breakfast treats look just like the originals. Our kids couldn't believe I actually made these tasty little Nutella pastries.
Score one point for Mom in the kitchen!!!
I see a whole lot more homemade pop tarts in our breakfast future! And I see lots of other fun flavors being tried, too!

Storage Recommendations
Homemade pop tarts can be kept in an airtight container on the counter for 1-2 days. They are best eaten at room temperature. I do not recommend heating them, as the chocolate coating will melt.
You can also freeze homemade pop tarts. Once they are cooled, place them in a freezer-safe bag or container in layers separated with parchment paper. Freeze for up to one month.

Nutella Pop Tarts
These easy homemade Nutella Pop Tarts are made with just a few ingredients. They look and taste better than the store bought treats.
Ingredients
- 1 box refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1 tablespoon milk
- ½ cup white chocolate melts
- ¼ cup chocolate melts
- 2 tablespoons sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll both pie crusts. Cut out 8 - 3 inch by 4 inch rectangles from each pie crust. You will need to cut as many as possible and re-roll the dough to get more.
- Spread the Nutella evenly on 8 rectangles, leaving a ½-inch border. Brush milk around the outside border, then top each one with the remaining pie crust rectangles. Press the sides together with your fingers, and then use a fork to crimp the edges.
- Gently place the tarts on the baking sheet. Use a knife and cut a few small slits on the top of each tart. Bake them for 15 minutes or until they are light golden brown.
- Let cool on the pan for a few minutes, then remove them and place on a wire rack until cooled.
- Melt the chocolates in two separate bowls according to the package directions. Spread the white chocolate over the tops of the cooled tarts.
- Spoon the melted chocolate into a ziplock bag and cut one corner off. Drizzle over the tops of the white chocolate.
- While the chocolate is still wet, top with sprinkles. Let them set before storing them in a sealed container.

Those are awesome! I can't wait to make them. I love pop tarts! I rarely eat them though. Not the healthiest of things, but as a treat now and then, I'm all over it.
