Right now I am totally all about the fruit. I have been buying strawberries, blueberries, apples, and oranges every time I am at the grocery store. Lately it seems like I have been running to the store last minute just about every day. One of those trips, I saw a box of blackberries that I had to have. Never mind that I am seriously not fond of blackberries or raspberries...I think it's the seeds that I can't deal with.

The box of blackberries were coming home with me anyway. As I rounded the corner in the produce section, it hit me.

Lime!!

Taco Egg Muffin Cups

Easy egg muffins with a taco twist are an easy and delicious breakfast or brunch meal. Thank you Ohio Poultry Association for inspiring me to make these delicious taco egg muffin cups.

We go through quite a few eggs here in our kitchen. Most of the things I bake call for eggs, and we like to have eggs for breakfast. There is nothing like a protein packed breakfast to get you going in the morning. Egg casseroles, scrambled eggs, or an omelette are a few ways we enjoy our breakfasts. That is my hubby and I...the kids prefer their eggs in muffins and pancakes.

I have to admit I have the best job ever. Most days I spend hours in my kitchen baking fun new recipes, photographing these creations in my living room, or sharing them here on the blog for you to enjoy.

My husband chuckles every time he comes home from lunch because I am usually still in my work out clothes or pajamas. Coming up with delicious treats and dinners takes time and energy, so I need to be as comfortable as possible when doing that. [Read more...]

I love a good sweet and salty treat any time of the day, week, month, or year. It is one thing that I will never turn down. There is something about that sweet mixed with the salty that totally drives me bonkers and keeps me wanting more.

The problem with eating all these delicious treats is that my hips and thighs do not agree with me on liking them so much. All those treats that I enjoy snacking on (even mildly) ends up in places that are hard to get rid of. Well, today my windows are wide open letting in the chilly, fresh air.

This wasn't my first choice of things to do today. But when your youngest decides to microwave taco shells to a crisp, it becomes a necessity to air out the burnt smell first thing. The funny thing is that my husband isn't even a big sweets eater. He usually will take a bite and then be good. Now put a bag of chips in front of him, and that's a different story. He is the salty lover in our family, and I am the sweets lover. It's why we go together so well. Sweet and salty is an awesome pair!!!

This week I learned to never leave my keys in the van, even if you are coming right back out.

My daughter and I were out shopping earlier this week, and we got home just in time to head back out for a meeting. I had about 5 minutes to run inside and freshen up, so I thought I would just leave the keys in the middle console. Bad idea because apparently when I dropped the keys down and jumped out, I failed to hear the van lock itself.

Caramel Milky Way Brownies

Sometimes you want a plain brownie, and sometimes you want an over the top crazy decadent brownie. These Caramel Milky Way Brownies definitely fall into the decadent and delicious category. But you can use the brownie base for those days when you just want the fudge brownie alone.

A few weeks ago I made a pan of brownies before going to bed. It's totally normal for me to be putting a pan of brownies or muffins into the oven at 10 pm at night. The night owl in me bakes best then.

The pan was still too hot to cover before I went to bed, so I just left it on the stove to cool overnight. I knew that my kids have the food routine down by now, so I didn't worry that anyone would dig into them without asking. Sure enough they didn't touch the pan. [Read more...]
