M&M blonde brownies are my go-to for a quick and easy dessert. These bars can be transformed into a colorful treat for any holiday or special event.
With Easter approaching, I enjoy making these blondies by adding various bags of candies. Trust me, these are not your average blonde brownies.
I added mini Cadbury eggs and sprinkles to the cookie bars. This gives them a colorful flair that any Easter bunny will love. If you have extra Cadbury eggs, you will definitely want to try them in these thick chocolate chip cookies.
Why Make These Easter Egg Blondies
I love this Easter blondie recipe because it's so versatile. Although I used mini Cadbury eggs and sprinkles, you can add other mix-ins to make it even more exciting.
Choose candies, such as pastel M&Ms or Reese's Pieces, for extra sweetness and color. You could even add shredded coconut for a tropical cookie bar!
The best part about making these Easter bars is that you only need one bowl, so there are fewer dishes to do later.
- These bars are fun, festive, and easy to make.
- You don't need any special tools or ingredients.
- Change the colors to fit any event or occasion.
What You'll Need
Aside from the chocolate eggs, all the ingredients for these mini egg blondies are readily available throughout the year.
- Unsalted Butter - Set it out ahead of time so it can soften
- Light Brown Sugar - Gives the blonde brownies a caramel-like texture
- Eggs - Add moisture and richness.
- Baking Powder - Provides some lift to the bars.
- Vanilla Extract & Salt - Adds flavor and balances out the sweetness.
- All Purpose Flour - This is the bar structure's primary ingredient. Fluff and spoon the flour for best results. Too much flour will result in crumbly bars.
- Mix-Ins - Cadbury mini eggs and bright-colored sprinkles make these a fun and festive treat.
- Chocolate Chips - These add extra chocolate to the bars. You can use milk, dark, or white chocolate chips.
How To Make Easter Blondies
Make perfect Easter blondies every time with these easy steps. You'll want to make them again and again.
- Use a stand or electric mixer to beat the softened butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Add the eggs and mix again.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, then mix slowly until a soft dough forms. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula while mixing.
- Gently stir in chocolate chips, candies, and sprinkles, then spread the thick batter in a prepared pan.
- Top with extra candies and sprinkles and bake until golden brown. Let them cool completely before cutting them into squares.
Storage Recommendations
On the Counter: Store the chewy blondies in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place for up to 4 days.
In the Freezer: Wrap the entire block or individual bars in plastic wrap and aluminum foil, then place it in a freezer-safe bag. Freeze for 2-3 months, then thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bring them to room temperature before serving.
Freezing them may cause the candies to discolor when they thaw out.
Tips and Tricks
- Line your baking pan with parchment paper or foil for easy removal and cleanup.
- Spray the pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent the blondies from sticking.
- These blondies are versatile. Switch up the mix-ins with different colored M&M's for any event or season.
- Any leftover Easter candy can give these buttery blondies a fun twist.
- Don't overbake the blondies. When you remove them from the oven, they should be golden on the edges but still soft in the middle. Remember, they will continue to cook slightly as they cool.
- The baking time will vary depending on what type of pan you use. I always bake ours in a glass dish for 22 minutes. However, if you are taking them to a party or event, bake them for 23-24 minutes, as they will set up a little better.
- If you use a metal pan, reduce the baking time slightly. Check with a toothpick to see if they are done.
FAQs

Absolutely! Use any size of Cadbury eggs you prefer. Crush them into bite-sized pieces.
These blondie bars taste even better the next day once the flavors have had a chance to meld. You can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze them for longer storage.
Chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans would be great in these blondies. If desired, fold them in along with the Cadbury eggs and sprinkles.
