How to Make Lucky Charms Cookies
You will love how easy it is to make these Lucky Charms cookies. Mix up the dough, refrigerate, then bake. It's seriously that easy.
- Make the dough. Mix the dry cake mix, butter, cream cheese, egg, and vanilla until a soft dough forms.
- Add your mix-ins. Gently stir in the white chips and marshmallows. Save a few marshmallows for later. Do not over mix.
- Refrigerate the dough. Place the bowl in the fridge and chill the cookie dough for at least 90 minutes. (2 hours is better.)
- Roll and bake. Scoop the dough into 24 even balls, roll into a ball, and bake. Press a few marshmallows onto the cookies while they are hot to make them even prettier.
Storage Recommendations
On the Counter: Store the cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. The marshmallows will become softer and chewier the longer they sit.
In the Freezer: These cookies can be frozen, but the texture of the marshmallows will change when they are thawed.
Tips and Tricks
- Use a two-tablespoon scoop to form the dough into balls of the same size.
- Refrigerate the Lucky Charms cookie dough for at least 90 minutes before baking. This will prevent the cookies from spreading too much and make them soft and puffy.
- Save some charm marshmallows to place on the tops of the cookies after they come out of the oven.
- Do not overbake! These cake mix cookies will look soft and underbaked when you take them out of the oven. Just trust me; they will set up as they cool.
- Stir in the dehydrated marshmallows gently so they don't break apart.
- Serve with green milk or a shamrock shake for a fun dessert.

I like to use lard when I have it. It gives great flavor and aroma when its baking! My Mom and Grandmother used it religiously in our bread every week! You could smell it baking from about 3 blocks away!! Yummy 😋
