I know that I post a lot of sugary desserts here, but really we do eat fairly healthy. It just looks like we eat brownies, cookies, and cake all the time. Ok, fine we do eat those all the time…we just eat lots of healthy meals too.
My husband and I both have been doing cross fit at a local gym. There we learned about Advocare and the great products they offer for maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle. These skinny chocolate banana oatmeal pancakes are one of the things I make and keep in our refrigerator for a quick and easy breakfast. They are a version of these Skinny Banana Oatmeal Pancakes from a few months ago.
Being the chocolate lover that I am, I had to find a way to add more chocolate into my morning routine. These pancakes have a scoop of the chocolate protein powder in them. You can use any brand chocolate protein powder, but I do recommend this Chocolate Performance Protein Shake Mix. It is great for smoothies, pancakes, granola bars, and I am working on including it into some brownies. Stay tuned for that one.
Let’s talk banana pancakes. 2 eggs and 1 banana. Mix it all together in a Ninja food prep and fry on a hot skillet. That’s all there is to it. Unless you are me…then you add chocolate protein powder, a little bit of cocoa powder for more chocolate flavor, and a little bit of oatmeal to thick the pancakes just a little. The oatmeal is optional. If you leave it out the pancakes will work just the same. The oatmeal just helps to give the pancake a little more body.
I chopped up some fresh strawberries and drizzled them with just a touch of honey. It adds just the right amount of fresh sweetness to these light pancakes. Perfect way to start the day with chocolate! Am I right?
