Why You Will Love this Copycat Dressing
The avocado lime ranch dressing from Chick-fil-a is so good, but it is high in calories and fat. Plus, you can't buy the dressing by itself. So, I set out to make a healthy copycat recipe for it.

The avocado salad dressing recipe also makes a great veggie dip. This creamy green sauce will quickly become your new favorite healthy condiment. Once you try it, we know you won't go back to store-bought dressings again.
Key Ingredients
This easy avocado lime dressing can be made in minutes with these simple ingredients. Just make sure you buy a ripe avocado, so the keto avocado dressing tastes fresh and creamy.
- Avocado - Used in place of mayonnaise to get that creamy "better for you" flavor in homemade dressing. Use avocados that are just slightly past their prime or have spots and don't look appetizing on salads.
- Plain Greek Yogurt - Adds more creaminess, tang, and a good hit of protein.
- Minced Garlic & Fresh Cilantro - Adds a fresh and delicious flavor. Feel free to leave out the cilantro if you do not like it.
- Lime Juice - Gives it a bright and tangy lime flavor.
- Olive Oil & Vinegar - Adds a rich and smooth texture with tang.
- Ranch Powder - We use the dry powder to give it a slight ranch twist.
- Optional - We like this keto avocado dressing as is, but a few readers have mentioned it was tangy. Monkfruit sweetener or honey can be added to balance it out.

Recipe FAQs
A jar of this avocado dressing will keep for 4-5 days in a tightly sealed jar in the refrigerator. After that it may start to turn a little brown because of the avocado.
The combination of lime and vinegar does give this homemade dressing a delicious flavor. Try adding 1-2 tablespoons of your favorite sweetener (to keep it sugar free), honey, or maple syrup to balance out the tang.

Brandi
What is the serving size of this dressing? It just says 1... 1 tablespoon?
Jocelyn
Hi, Brandi. I went ahead and adjusted the recipe to reflect the serving size. 1 serving is 2 tablespoons. I hope you enjoy it.
Cameron McAnarney
This is the best dressing I have ever made! Awesome with some roasted peppers and onion and grilled chicken! Thank you! I will for sure be buying your book!
Jocelyn
I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed the dressing! And I hope you enjoy the cookbook as well!!!
Sharon
Too acidic for my liking. I will omit vinegar next time.
Patty
Could this be used as a dressing for coleslaw?
Jocelyn
I think it would work just fine. It is a little on the thicker side, so you may need to add a little more oil and vinegar if you don't like it that thick.
Devi
Hi! I was wondering about how many days would this dressing last? I'm excited to try it!
Jocelyn
I kept in the fridge for about 4-5 days. I hope you enjoy it!!!
Diane
I put the avocado pit in with the dressing so it doesn't turn brown. That works when I make guacamole so it might also work for the dressing.
Brenda
Great recipe but a little too tangy formy taste so I added 2 scoops (the tiny ones) of pure organic Stevia. Now it's perfect!
Heather
I just made a double batch of this dressing, and it was way too vinegar-y for my taste. I don't really use vinegar when cooking, so does this amount of vinegar help keep the dressing fresher?
Either way, I will try the recipe again with less vinegar next time because I love avocado dressings! Thanks for the recipe! 🙂
Jocelyn
I'm sorry you didn't like the dressing. Try adding a little more oil to it to balance out your taste buds. Unfortunately everyone does have different tastes because I liked it just as it was. I hope you give it another try.
Millie
Just browsing here in the middle of the night for some salad dressings and came across this one. Running to the market first thing in the morning for one missing ingredient. Can't wait to try it. Looks sooooo creamy!!
Jocelyn
Yay for finding fun recipes to make! Keep me posted on how you like it!!!
Brandy
Did anyone else find it overly peppery? I used half the pepper that was called for and I feel like that is all I really taste. Other than that, it is really good.
Jocelyn
I do usually use a lot of pepper in my food, so that's how we like it. But I haven't had anyone else say anything about it being too much in this dressing. It might be the mix of pepper and cilantro that you are tasting. Salt and pepper is usually added to your taste, so just adjust it accordingly next time. I'm glad you liked it other than the amount of pepper.
Kathy
If you keep the dressing, does it turn brown from oxidation or does the lime keep it fresh?
Jocelyn
I kept it for a few days in a tightly sealed mason jar, and I didn't see any brown. I think the lime helps with that.
Sue
Hi Jocelyn!
Is this white vinegar or apple cidar vinegar?
Jocelyn
Hi, Sue. I just used regular white vinegar for this dressing. I hope you enjoy it 🙂
Medha @ Whisk & Shout
This looks super creamy and addictive- I'm pretty sure I'd put this on everything, from salad, to pasta, to rice bowls, to sandwiches!
Jocelyn
I was totally thinking this dressing would work on a summer pasta salad! Great minds think alike 🙂
