The Cutest Thanksgiving Candy
I have the cutest little candy turkey craft for you to make with your kids this year. The best part is that the candy turkeys are made with TWO peanut butter cups!
Reese's peanut butter cups are the best! We know because we have been eating them our whole lives. And now you can turn them into adorable little turkeys!
These sweet little candies will delight your friends and family members. Trust me, everyone will be gobbling them up in no time at all. I suggest making extras because once everyone sees them, they will disappear!
You can't go wrong with these cute little Reese's candy turkeys. They will definitely bring some holiday cheer to any table on Thanksgiving Day.
What You'll Need
All you need are 4 ingredients and 30 minutes to put together a few of these Reese's turkeys. If you love Reese's or just want a fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving, then these turkeys are perfect for you!
- Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - You will need the regular peanut butter cups and the miniature peanut butter cups.
- Chocolate Melting Wafers - Use this as the "glue" to hold all the pieces together. We like using Ghirardelli melts because they taste so good and melt easily.
- Candy Corn - Different colors of candy corn make up the tail feathers and the beak on these candy turkeys. You could also use Reese's Pieces instead.
- Edible Candy Eyes - Gives the little treats the cutest googly look. You can find them in the baking aisle of most stores.
How to make Candy Turkeys
Set out all the ingredients you need to make these adorable Reese's turkeys ahead of time. Once you melt the chocolate, you will need to work quickly. Make sure to attach all the pieces on the candy turkeys before the chocolate starts to set up.
- Remove all the wrappers from the candies and set everything out in an assembly line.
- Melt the chocolate and attach the mini peanut butter cups to the regular ones.
- Cut off the tips of the candy corn, if you want. The orange tips are the perfect size to use for the beak. (You can also use an orange coated sunflower seed if you like.)
- Use a toothpick to spread a little bit of melted chocolate on the back of the candy corn and place it around the regular peanut butter cup.
- Spread a little bit of melted chocolate on the back of the candy eyes and orange candy corn tip and attach them to the front of the small peanut butter cup
BruCrew Tip: Attach a chocolate covered pretzel to the bottom of the peanut butter cup turkeys to give them feet and to help them stand up better.
Storage
Keep the finished candy turkeys in a loosely sealed container on the counter for 4-5 days.
Cute Place Setting Idea
French fry boxes are so cute for gifting little treats. You could fill them with candy turkeys and put one at each place setting this Thanksgiving. These are the perfect treat for Reese's lovers!!
To make the boxes colored, pull one fry box apart and trace it onto card stock. Cut it out and score all the fold marks before glueing it back together.
I found the "Keep Calm and ______" stamp at JoAnn Fabric's a few years ago. I just filled in the "eat ham" part with some small letter stamps I had. (You could always stamp the whole saying with the letter stamps.)
You could also stamp or print labels with your guests names on them too.
