Life is all about choices.

We all are given different opportunities each and every day. Some times those things have very clear answers in what we should do. Then there are times neither way you go is wrong. These are the times I need to watch myself closely.

Over the past 7 years I have been blogging, I have seen my desire and passion change. The first few years were random posts since it was just a hobby.

Then 3 years ago my husband went into full time ministry, and God used this hobby of mine to become a full-time job. It has been fun and exciting to see where and what God has done with my blog.

I love sharing random bits and pieces from our life along with the recipes we eat. As I continued in this job, I started working with brands and slowly all my thoughts and time began to become consumed with this job. This was a job that I finally loved and was good at. I have some crazy talented friends. My friend Jocelyn, from the Grandbaby Cakes blog, wrote an entire book on cake. Big cakes, little cakes, sheet cakes, layer cakes...you name it, it's in the book. And they are good! As I flipped through the pages, I kept marking ones I couldn't wait to try.

Jocelyn is one of those people that you get around, and you just can't help getting excited. She has a passion and excitement for life that is so contagious. I first met Jocelyn at a blog event in the Pillsbury kitchen.

We are finally into a really good routine in the morning for school and work outs. It only took 5 weeks to get it down. I think that means the habit is set, right?

This summer our oldest turned 16 and decided he wanted to get his permit. Let me tell you, 16 years of waiting does not prepare you for that moment when your baby gets behind the wheel.

He has done really well with driving. I always wondered how I would be with our kids and driving. So far, so good. I haven't freaked out...too much anyway.

Last week we decided to drive a few hours away to IKEA. My hubby decided the 2 ½ hour drive on the freeway would be a good experience for our son. Let's just say it was a stressful ride for at least 3 of us in the car.

The younger two were oblivious to the fact that their brother was driving with semi's and crazy drivers. He did a good job, but we were so glad to finally get there alive.

Roasted Veggies

Adding a drizzle of olive oil and your choice of seasoning will make these Roasted Veggies a welcome side dish for dinner, when you are watching what you are eating.

Over the past 2 years my hubby and I have been going to the gym pretty consistently. Most weeks we try to go Monday through Friday at 6 am, but obviously there are a few times when we choose sleeping in over working out. Can I just say that those days we actually feel worse? There is something about getting up early and just powering through a workout to get you going for the day.

I wish I could say that I have lost a ton of weight in those 2 years, but I have maintained my weight and my clothes do fit better. I'm also not as puffy and bloated looking. That's the thing about crossfit/weight training...you build a crazy amount of muscle while toning.

When we first started I couldn't add any extra weights to the bar when we did weighted squats. It was enough to get the 45 pound bar back up from a squat position. Now I'm throwing 35 pounds on each side and doing squats. It's amazing what you can achieve if you set your mind to it...or what you can do when others are there to push you. [Read more...]

Finding fun ways to change up breakfast is something that I enjoy doing. Of course, there are the things that they like made fresh. But since I'm baking/cooking challenged that early in the morning, I have to find very easy things to make.
