I am getting myself ready to bake lots and lots of cookies this year. Do I need them? Does anyone want them? The answer to both questions is probably no, but that still isn't going to stop me from making tons of cookies. I'm sure I can find someone to help me eat them all.

This year, I was excited to buy the Pumpkin Spice Kisses again. I bought a bag of them right away, but then the bag just sat there in the cupboard, unopened and lonely.

There was no way I could open the bag for just one kiss. I have self-control issues, and those kisses would have been gone. Not to mention that when my family sees an open bag of candy, they think it is fair game.

Please, do yourself a favor and buy some candy corn, peanuts, and Reese's Pieces today. I recall that my first letter mentioned this was a dangerous mix. Go ahead and forget about that...you will definitely thank me after you try it. Your pants might hate me, but I can live with that. To help you out a little, I have a blonde brownie recipe that uses up the rest of the snack mix. Yes, it is just as dangerous to eat, but let's live on the edge a little. These peanut butter blonde brownies have so much texture from the snack mix and have such a delicious peanut butter flavor that you just can't stop munching. The candy corn gives the perfect amount of chew in each bite, too. You are going to love them...promise.

Recipe

Peanut Butter Candy Corn Blonde Brownies

Yield: 24 blonde brownies

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Peanut butter blonde brownies with peanuts, Reese's pieces, and candy corn.

Ingredients

½ cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup peanut butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups flour
2 cups mini Reese's pieces
1 cup peanuts
1 cup candy corn

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar, and peanut butter.
Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until creamy.
Stir together the baking powder, salt, and flour. Slowly add to the creamed mixture. Stir in the Reese's pieces, peanuts, and candy corn by hand.
Spread the mixture in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-27 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

So, the other day, I had my little photo "studio" set up right by my front window. This window is right next to the front door with our mailbox right outside that. It was probably noonish (maybe later), and I was sitting on the floor taking pictures of some sort of sugar food.

I finally got smart to the fact that we are in the middle of a heat wave, and I wore a t-shirt to our son's soccer game yesterday. An hour and a half of sitting in the sun with a sweatshirt would have definitely distracted me from the game.

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to see this Sandwich Maker from Hamilton Beach in action at the BlogHer conference. It is such a fun little appliance, and I knew my family would love making breakfast with it. I was so excited when they contacted me about reviewing one in my home.

When my husband saw the sandwich maker, he wasn't that impressed and didn't think it would work. Guess who uses this machine almost every single day now??? That's right. He had to take back all those things he said. He loves how easily this cooks an egg and toasts your muffin at the same time. Seriously, it gets used every day!

I love that this appliance is small enough to keep on the counter without taking up much space. With someone in the family using it every day, I didn't want to put it away, but it is also small enough that it wouldn't take up much room in a cabinet, either.
