Homemade Chocolate Chip Brownies will satisfy any chocolate craving you may encounter.
I have a slight problem when I bake.
Have you noticed that I don’t do plain baked treats? I like to embellish my goodies with loads of extra candy and chocolate.
Every so often my family asks for “plain” brownies or just chocolate chip cookies. That is so hard for me to do! I do want to make them things that they ask for (no matter how boring I think it may be), so I have to hold back from unloading my baking cabinet into those plain treats.
Let me tell you…that’s hard! My mind goes a million miles a minute when it comes to thinking up new and exciting treats to bake up.
Recently OXO sent me some baking tools to use in making brownies for Kid’s Cancer. They are doing an amazing work raising money and support for children who suffer from cancer. For every blog post that goes up show casing these products, they will donate $100 to Cookies for Kids Cancer. We are helping to get the word out about raising this money and the donations that OXO will match. This month OXO is also partnering with bake sales and the sale of baking tools. Let’s all Bake a Difference and support OXO and Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. You can find specially marked OXO packages. Each time you buy these items, OXO will donate towards Cookies for Kids Cancer. It will make all the difference in the life of a child.

I went ahead and followed the directions exactly, so I could see if I liked it, or if it needed tweaked. They tasted great, but they were not that rich dark chocolate color I was looking for. The second batch I used dark cocoa powder in place of the baking chocolate squares…there it was! There was the dark fudge texture and color I had in my mind.
Now I tried my hardest to just make them plain. I figured what kid doesn’t like chocolate chips. And powdered sugar is surely plain enough.
Oh no, I heard about it from my kids. They still want the plain brownies. I guess chocolate chips and powdered sugar are not plain enough…
according to my crazy mind, they were
