    Apple Cinnamon Bread

Our kids love it when we make monkey bread muffins or cinnamon sugar pull-apart bread for a fun breakfast treat on the weekends. It's also a family favorite for the holidays too.

For this pull-apart bread recipe, we are starting with a homemade dough made with quick-rise yeast. This step skips a rise time, making it faster to make the gooey apple cinnamon bread!

I used the dough recipe from this raspberry pull-apart coffee cake for the base of this bread. This sweet bread features layers of apple pie filling and is topped with a sweet glaze, making it irresistible.

Why You Will Love This Recipe

    • This homemade recipe is easy and delicious, making it great for breakfast or brunch this fall.
    • As this apple pull-apart bread bakes, your kitchen will smell like fall.

    Spooky Eyeballs

Every October, our boys ask if I am going to make these spooky Halloween treats again. A few years ago, I jazzed up peanut butter balls for one party, and now my family wants them for Halloween every year.

Of course, I will never turn down an opportunity to make and eat chocolate and peanut butter treats.

My husband saw eyeball truffles on the counter and said they reminded him of the Walking Dead episode with Glenn's eyeball. He pulled up a replay and made me watch the eyeball scene.

Why You Will Love These Candy Eyes

    • Delicious and fun. The zombie eyes, made with peanut butter, white chocolate, and candies, taste delicious.
    • Extra spooky treat. Red gel oozing out of the candy eyes gives them that extra spooky touch.
    • Eye-catching treat. When the kids and adults see it, get ready for some chuckling and grimacing at the dessert table.

Add these Chocolate Pumpkin Spider Donuts to your Halloween parties and watch all the kids grab a spooky treat! Soft baked donuts decorated with chocolate, sprinkles, and edible eyes are a fun breakfast this time of year!

A white plate with chocolate pumpkin donuts decorated like spiders and spiderwebs piled on it

A few years ago I decided to boycott dusting for the month of October. As I was putting out the skeleton bones, spiders, and gravestones they kind of looked out of place on the clean shelves.

Last year I added some plastic rats to our decor. Let's face it. Bones and rats look much better when there is a layer of dust surrounding them.

So, for now, I am letting the dust pile up on everything. The spiders have free rein of our ceiling corners. Well, for now anyway.

Years ago we lived down the road from a couple that would always decorate their house for Halloween. They had large life-sized skeletons crawling on the roof and up the side of the house! At night they turned on a red glowing lightbulb, so you can just barely see the skeletons. It is so cool!

I know this might seem creepy and scary, but my husband and I both agree that it looked so fun.  We love Halloween!!!  It totally made me want to go buy 5 skeletons to attach to our house too!  Well, that was until I looked at how much those big ones actually cost. Yikes!

It seemed like a much better idea to just keep driving by their house each night enjoying the fun decorations there instead of buying them.

Every year when fall gets here, I get so excited for the return of the Salted Caramel Mocha Latte and the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew in coffee shops.  As much as I adore the pumpkin coffee, the salted caramel latte is my all time favorite.

I decided to have some fun in the kitchen and bake something with that sweet and salty flavor.

One of our kids absolute favorite breakfast treat is monkey bread.  You know the stuff, right?  Biscuit dough cut up and rolled in butter and cinnamon sugar and then baked to gooey perfection.

If you have never tried it, trust me and head to the kitchen now because you need monkey bread in your life ASAP.  You are going to love this homemade recipe because it tastes like the inside of cinnamon rolls.

Since brown food isn't the prettiest, I added a drizzle of sweet glaze over the tops of these Monkey Bread Muffins to make them pretty and even more delicious. It's not necessary, but tastes oh, so good!

A square of snickerdoodle apple cake on a white plate topped with cinnamon frosting and apple slices.

There is something about the smell of apples that says fall to me. During the fall months, I like to keep a bag of apples on hand at all times. My preferred way to eat "an apple a day" is in baked goods.

Apples provide extra moisture to cakes, cookies, and muffins. They also make your kitchen smell amazing as you are baking.

This apple cinnamon cake is a match made in heaven. The soft dense cake is loaded with apple pieces and is topped with the creamiest cinnamon frosting.

The best part about this snickerdoodle cake is that it starts with a cake mix. See how to make a cake mix taste homemade with three kinds of apple love.

These homemade Caramel Apple Granola Bars taste so much better than any bar you will find in the store.  They are easy to make, and they are so soft and chewy. Perfect for on the go breakfasts or after school snacks.

    [feast_advanced_jump_to]

Granola bars are one of those snacks that are just easy to keep on hand.  Most of the time I make no bake granola bars for the kids to snack on during the week, but this week I pulled out an oldie, but goodie recipe.

Over the years, I have had fun with that baked granola bar recipe and made some pretty delicious strawberry granola bars.

I had a few apples leftover after making these apple donut holes, so I decided to add them to a pan of apple cinnamon oatmeal bars for everyone to snack on. And of course, caramel had to be added too.

    Why Make These Bars

Homemade granola bars are so easy to customize with different ingredients. Pretty much anything you like can be added to them.

After they bake and cool they have a soft, chewy texture that is so delicious.

The sweet caramel apple flavor will satisfy all your fall cravings. Plus, they make great lunch box treats for the kids all week long.

Now that we are in the middle of September, I am in full blown fall mode. The problem is that fall doesn't come to Florida until at least November.  So, what is a girl to do?

So far, I have pull out all the fall decor, kept the air conditioner running at a cool 72 degrees, and started baking with apples.

And as I write this, I have a pot of homemade apple butter bubbling on our stove top, and the kitchen smells absolutely amazing.
