This easy Hot Chocolate Cheesecake Dip is the perfect no bake dessert to share at holiday parties. It is full of hot chocolate flavor, is easy to make, and is delicious with cookies and fruit.
With the cooler weather here to stay for a while, we have been drinking lots of this Nutella Hot Chocolate trying to stay warm. Ok, maybe not to stay warm, but when it’s chilly outside a hot steamy cup just feels right.
Lately I have been mixing up a few cups of hot chocolate for the kids and a cup of Salted Caramel Mocha Latte for me as we sit and enjoy these quiet moments together. I just love this time of year.
There is something about sitting on the couch with our kiddos just enjoying time together. It definitely makes me feel warm and cozy and so thankful for everything we have.
One of our favorite things to do around the holidays is to make snack supper. What is snack supper you ask? Basically, it’s all you can eat appetizers for dinner.
Some of our favorite things to make is this Chicken Fajita Queso Dip, these Pizza Pinwheels, and this Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip. Add a few bags of chips, crackers, and veggies and we are set for a night of board games and movies.
Well, not quite. My sweet tooth has to have something sweet and delicious to end the night on. Enter in the dessert dip! Trust me. You need a chocolate dip in your life too!
Drop everything and go make a bowl of this hot cocoa dip to dive into immediately.
This easy hot cocoa dip comes together in minutes. It’s sweet, creamy, and totally delicious with cookies, sweet crackers, or fruit.
What you need for Hot Chocolate Cheesecake Dip:
- Cream Cheese – Make sure to set it out ahead of time. Softened cream cheese is easier to beat into a light creamy dessert dip.
- Greek Yogurt – Adds a little more dairy to your diet and a tang to the cheesecake dip.
- Marshmallow Cream – Sweetens the dip and adds a smooth fluffy texture.
- Hot Chocolate Mix – It is hot chocolate dip after all. I like to use a dark chocolate mix for a rich and dark chocolate dip.
- Cool Whip – Makes it creamy and fluffy. PRO TIP: Make Homemade Whipped Cream if you prefer that instead.
- Mini Marshmallows and Peppermint Bits – Extra toppings make it so fun and delicious.
This chocolate dip is seriously so easy to make. It is ready to devour in 5-10 minutes. And it’s even easier to eat.
How to make Hot Chocolate Cheesecake Dip:
- Beat the cream cheese, yogurt, and marshmallow cream until creamy.
- Add the powdered hot chocolate mix and beat again until dissolved and creamy.
- Fold in a little bit of Cool Whip gently.
- Top with a swirl of Cool Whip, marshmallows, and peppermint bits and dig in.
Trust me. This dessert dip will disappear before you know it!

I’ll be the first to face plant this dip! No spoon needed.
I’ll be making this for my family’s Christmas Eve get-together this year. We have a great dinner, but for some reason, nobody ever thinks to make a dessert. Every single year! That’s changing this year 🙂
No dessert?! Craziness! You need to definitely make this! 🙂
What an awesome cause you are supporting! I love that. And yes I would totally eat it with my spoon. Duh. Anything to get it into my mouth faster, right? 🙂

I loved seeing recaps of that trip! Especially as an Ohio-born gal, it was fun to revisit some of my old stomping grounds in photos from some of my favorite bloggers. And I am always so happy to hear about animals being treated well. That really matters to me. This is a great cause to support!
Two of my favorite things in one dip!! Pass me a giant spoon please 😀
Haha, absolutely!! 😉
What a great cause! And this totally looks like something I could not resist!! Yummy!
How about instead of dipping things into it, I just eat it with a spoon? 😉 Is that allowed? Because I need this dip in my life ASAP!
Yes!! Actually, I highly encourage eating this with a spoon! 😉
oh my word! hot chocolate PLUS cheesecake in a dip!!? Sign me up, girl! That looks incredible!
I know this must be good! I’ve got a similar one going up tomorrow! I love the idea of the #givegallons campaign, what a fabulous way to give back!

Thanks Chels! 🙂
What a fantastic holiday treat! My family would go crazy for this.
Can cocoa powder be substituted for the hot chocolate?
Yes, actually you could substitute cocoa powder, BUT you will need to add sugar as well. I’m not quite sure how much since I didn’t make it that way.
Can this be made the night before? Does it stay good in the refrigerator?
Yes, you can make this the night before. Just keep it in a covered container in the refrigerator. I hope you enjoy it!
I can’t stand yogurt. Anything else to use in the cho. cheescake dip?
You could also use sour cream if you want to substitute that instead of the yogurt!
My family always has a “challenge ingredient” for a cook-off for Christmas dinner. This year the ingredient is hot chocolate. I just made this recipe and am looking forward to winning the prize 😉
Yum! Thanks for posting it!
OMG!!! This sounds absolutely decadent!!! Onky for a family that doesn’t care for peppermint, I’m going to use the Hershey flavored candy canes for garnish!!!!
