Hello out there. Is anyone else glad it's Friday too? I am looking forward to the weekend...although I put off some work this week and now I have to do it this weekend. I seriously am lacking in the time management area. So, while I go make some more fun desserts to share with you, enjoy the fun top 10 for the week 🙂
1. Last week my sister and her family visited us. They are missionaries to Bolivia, so we don't get to see them very often. It was great to have the whole week just playing and seeing family.

I spent last weekend in Austin, Texas for the BlogHer Food conference. It was so exciting to see so many food bloggers from everywhere in one hotel. I decided on an early flight to Austin. Of course I was up too late the night before packing, so after 2 hours of sleep we were off to the airport. I couldn't wait to check out the sites before the conference started.

Happy Friday! Today I am in the hot and steamy state of Texas having a blast at the BlogHer conference. So far we have had cupcakes from a food trailer, eaten some Mexican, and then hobnobbed with Ree from Pioneer Woman and Amanda from Kevin and Amanda. That totally means we are BFF's now, right? Ok, so maybe I was totally geeked out by both, but it was so fun to meet them and see how real and friendly and downright amazing they are. I can't wait to see what the rest of the weekend is like. As we head into summer, I am always looking for great no bake recipes that do not take a lot of time to prepare. The windows in our house do not really get any good airflow.

[Read more...]I have never been more ready for the weekend. Ok, that's not true. I can think of a few other crazy weeks that made me thankful for weekends. It just seems that when you leave for vacation, you are that much more ready.
School is now out, for the elementary that is! I can officially call it Summer break now. We now have a 4th and 6th grader, and after this afternoon a 9th grader. Oh my word!!!! I have a high schooler! That seriously can't be possible. Where did that chubby cheeked little boy who carried around the dinosaur and the dragon by the neck go?????? I may need sugar to comfort me! Good thing I have a mountain of butter cream in my kitchen!
Ok, I told you I was changing up how I do my Behind BruCrew posts. Basically I am just adding some fun finds to my instagram posts. I noticed that last time I shared 10 things. And when I put together my list for today, I had about 10 things...so it seemed like the right thing to do by calling it the Top Ten. Now to get a cute logo for each post. Some weeks may be more fun finds, some weeks maybe more family stuff. I guess you will have to just keep coming back to see what I post.
1. This week I celebrated 15 years of wedded bliss with this hot guy! I still can't get over how little we look here. He is my best friend and totally puts up with all my crazies, and yet he still loves me more each day. We are blessed to have such a devoted husband and father.

After years of baking cakes, I have officially come to the conclusion that I like making cupcakes so much more. They bake faster, they are faster to frost (because you don't have to smooth it out), and it is easy to make them look cute.
Now I may just be slightly against cake right now because starting tomorrow I need to start baking a bazillion cakes. Ok, ok, it is only 12 layers, but it's going to feel like so much more by the time I get to that 12th cake. Not to mention how many batches of butter cream I am going to be making.
