A stack of two carrot cake bars with sprinkles and nuts on a white and teal plate.

My all time favorite cake is carrot cake.  Although, I rarely make it at home.  It is usually a dessert that I treat myself to when we find it at restaurants.

Part of the reason I never make it is that layer cakes take quite a bit of time to bake and frost. I'm more about easy desserts that require way less work and time.

Currently, I have plenty of time being at home all the time, so who knows.  Maybe I'll get around to making a carrot cake soon.

I love ordering spinach artichoke dip whenever we go out to eat at Olive Garden. Of course, right now we are staying home and not able to enjoy all the good food from restaurants.

Spending time in the kitchen with your children will create lasting memories for everyone.  Here are 14 Easy Dessert Recipes to make with Kids while you are enjoying your time at home.

Collage of 6 easy dessert pictures with a red title text block

My love for baking began at a very young age. I can remember learning how to make pie crust with my mom when I was 4 years old.

We rolled the crust out and filled it with cherry pie filling, and then I sat in front of the stove watching it bake. That little pie gave me the baking bug that I have not been able to shake over the years.

When our kids were younger, they loved to help me in the kitchen. I still smile when I think about all those times. Baking with small children will definitely test your patience though.

There will be flour everywhere, and eggshells in your food is inevitable, but just go with it because they are worth it.  Those moments teaching your children how to bake are memories you will cherish for years to come.

Some weeks the treats I make are a hit or miss. Some times my crazy dessert ideas work the first time, and then others need a few tweaks before they turn out.

Every once in a while an idea totally doesn’t work, so it gets thrown out. We won’t talk about those ones.

Let’s talk about the hungry teenagers that live in the house with us. As little kids they usually ate whatever we bought or made. Thankfully we never had to deal with picky eaters. ...

Bundt cakes are hands down my favorite type of cake to make.  They look extra fancy because of the shape, but they are literally one of the easiest cakes to bake.

We make this Funfetti bundt cake and this salted caramel bundt cake quite often because they taste amazing and are so easy to make. The other day, I was craving a coconut cake, so I reached for my bundt pan.

Since Easter is soon, I decorated the cake with orange chocolate-covered strawberries to look like carrots.

Why This Coconut Cake Recipe Works

This coconut cream bundt cake is easy to make. It has the perfect amount of coconut flavor and is topped with cream cheese frosting and toasted coconut.

You're going to love how simple this recipe is. All you need is one bowl and a few ingredients.

Plus, this cake looks so pretty when it is finished. And the best part is that it tastes amazing, too! Serve it at spring parties, and WOW all your guests.

No one in our home is an early morning riser.  We all love sleeping in until the last possible moment.  So, over the years I have made different breakfast options like these White Chocolate Caramel Granola Bars, these Banana Nut Cinnamon Rolls,  or some of these Coffee Chocolate Chip Muffins the night before.

I love easy breakfast items that can be made the day before and still taste great the next day.  Of course, we also eat our fair share of cereal, milk, yogurt, eggs, smoothies, and oatmeal.  Every day isn't a "start the day out with sugar" kind of day.

One thing that I have found that all three of our kids love to eat in the morning is a warm cinnamon roll. I mean, who doesn't like a warm, gooey cinnamon roll, right?

Life right now looks so much different than it did a week ago. Stores have been wiped out of food, toilet paper, and medicines as people stock up in order to be prepared.

As we navigate this unreal time in our country, let's choose to stay calm and not panic.  Fear and worry doesn't help us make helpful decisions or allow us to be positive.

I know we are confused and sad about all that has happened so far, but worrying won't change anything. Luke 12:25 says, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?"

Together let's do our best to choose focus over fear. Help others, stay hydrated, wash your hands, get plenty of sleep, and eat well.  ...
