Now that our kids are older they could care less about Halloween costumes, pumpkin carving, Ghost Cookies, or trick or treating. Well, I think they might be considering walking the neighborhood for some candy, so they better find some sort of a costume.

How do you guys feel about teenagers and trick or treating? I have mixed feelings on it. If the teens put some effort into it and actually have a costume on, then I'm totally cool with it.

But the kids that show up at the door in street clothes have me a little tight fisted with my bowl of candy. Is that wrong of me?

Can I admit something? I'm actually starting to enjoy creating and photographing healthy recipes. I know, I know. Who am I and what have I done with the crazy dessert lady?

It's ok, I'm still here. You can learn to eat healthy and enjoy it, but you never truly lose your sweet tooth. I still battle the desire to eat sweets each and every day.

Some days I give in and enjoy a few bites of whatever dessert I am currently developing. I'm looking at you Cinnamon Roll Pumpkin Cake! But what has changed is my desire to eat the whole pan of dessert. Healthy moderation keeps that sweet tooth in check.

Well, and the fact that I don't want to buy bigger pants ever again. So bring on more healthy dinners.

Behind BruCrew Life

Last month was another busy one for the BruCrew family. We had fun doing some last minute family activities before the kids headed back to college and school.

One of the big things that happened in August was that my cookbook Cheesecake Love was featured in Woman's World magazine. It was exciting to see a few of my pictures on the front cover and also in a three page spread.

It has been almost a year since it hit shelves, and I'm still pinching myself that I had such an awesome opportunity to write all about cheesecake.

Cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line

Earlier this summer our family went Cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line. There are so many different activities, delicious food, and great excursions when you book a trip on Norwegian.

This pretty party boat left out of Miami and headed to two different Bahama ports with us onboard.

We actually had a completely different trip booked, but unforeseen circumstances with the boats maintenance had us scrambling days before the other ship left port to find another cruise.

One of my sister in law's is a travel agent, so she was able to find us this short 3 day cruise on Norwegian for a good price at the last minute. The best part was that she found two balcony rooms side by side that were still available.

So after finding fun things to do while driving the Florida Keys and exploring Key West in a day, we drove to Miami and got on board the all inclusive Norwegian Sky.
