I enjoy baking cookies during the holiday season. We select at least ten cookie recipes for cookie trays and tins in December. These peppermint Oreo cookies and Christmas kiss cookies always make the list.

Every year, I try to add a new and unique cookie to our collection. We usually buy fresh pomegranate arils to add to our salads. I added the extra seeds and orange and cinnamon to my thick chocolate chip cookie recipe this time.

It transformed these treats into the most festive cookies I've ever tasted.

    Peppermint Ice Cream

Winter has finally arrived. It's the perfect time to snuggle up with a warm blanket and watch your favorite holiday movie with your favorite peppermint treats!

It isn't Christmas without a few cartons of this candy cane ice cream in your freezer. Grocery stores typically carry this seasonal flavor for only a few months each year.

Since this frozen treat is difficult to find after the holiday season, I made homemade peppermint ice cream to enjoy year-round. The hardest part is waiting for it to churn and freeze.

Why I Love This Peppermint Stick Ice Cream

This homemade peppermint ice cream is made with peppermint extract and crushed candy, making it a fun Christmas dessert.

However, you don't have to wait for the holidays to enjoy this special treat. It's easy to make so that you can indulge all year round.

    • Smooth and creamy texture. Combining heavy cream, whole milk, and melted white chocolate creates the perfect creaminess. The fat content is crucial, so it's important not to skimp on the ingredients.
    • Loaded with candy canes. Using crushed candy bits gives the ice cream a more intense flavor and satisfying crunch.
    • Pretty pink color. More or less food coloring can be added to get your desired shade of pink. However, you can skip that step and enjoy white ice cream with candy canes. Either way, it's sure to become a holiday favorite!

Over the years, our family has taken many cruises, and I always enjoy sipping on a mudslide while on the boat. Despite not being a frequent drinker, this is one of my favorites. Something about being on vacation gives you permission to eat all the desserts and drink a few drinks.

That delicious boozy beverage inspired this no-bake mudslide pie, but it is alcohol-free so everyone can enjoy it. I filled a crunchy Oreo cookie crust with a creamy coffee filling and topped it with a homemade whipped cream topping that had a slightly nutty flavor.

A drizzle of hot fudge and coffee beans adds a delicious crunch to the no-bake pie. The toppings are optional but highly recommended.
