A small clear jar filled with strawberry pie filling.

In just 15 minutes you can make a delicious Strawberry Pie Filling that has a vibrant red color and is bursting with flavor. This pie filling recipe is easy to make with 5 simple ingredients and is great for pies, cakes, cheesecake, or breakfast pastries.

Two small clear jars filled with strawberry pie filling.
    [feast_advanced_jump_to]

One of my favorite things to do when our kids were younger was picking strawberries. I'm sure the kids ate more berries than they put into the buckets. There is nothing like eating fresh strawberries on a warm spring day!

We love using those fresh picked strawberries in easy desserts like strawberry cobbler, strawberry pretzel pie, and this fluff salad. But one of my favorite things to make is a batch of strawberry pie filling.

This homemade filling is sweet, thick, and loaded with sliced berries. You are going to love how simple it is to make.

Why You Will Love Strawberry Pie Filling

Homemade pie filling is actually easier to make than you think.  Most canned strawberry pie filling is full of gel and very little berries. When you make your own pie filling you can control what ingredients are in it and how sweet it is.

    • Easy to Make: This pie filling is easy to make in 20 minutes with just five simple ingredients. Plus, it tastes so much better than canned filling.
    • Sweet and Tangy Flavor: Fresh strawberries provide natural sweetness, and a hint of lemon juice adds a tangy flavor. Together, they create a delicious and amazing taste.
    • Homemade Goodness: Making your own pie filling offers many benefits. You can control the amount of ingredients used. Plus, you can customize the sweetness and thickness of the filling to your preference.
    • Versatile: Strawberry pie filling can be used in so many different types of desserts. Try mini strawberry pies, cheesecake brownies, or this lemon strawberry cake.
    • Freezer Friendly: It freezes well, so it is a great way to use fresh strawberries when they are in season.

    [feast_advanced_jump_to]

I adore making recipes with bananas. From banana cheesecake to banana bread muffins, there is always at least one bunch on our counter waiting for snack time.

We usually make banana pancakes for breakfast, but this week, I decided to change it up and make a batch of homemade banana waffles. I tweaked this apple waffle recipe, and now we have a new breakfast favorite.

Why You Will Love Banana Waffles

Sure, you could make waffles from a box mix, but waffles from scratch are just as easy and taste so much better. Trust me. These homemade waffles are pretty simple and can be made in minutes.

    • Fresh Ingredients - Homemade waffles allow you to use ripe bananas, which have a sweet flavor. This gives the waffles a rich, natural banana flavor that you won't get with processed or pre-packaged ingredients.
    • Great Texture - These waffles are crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The use of fresh bananas in the batter adds a natural moistness to the waffles, making them tender and delicious.
    • Easy to Make - The batter comes together quickly with a bowl and a fork. Plus, you can have fun experimenting with different ingredient combinations.
    • Fun to Top - Maple syrup is the most common topping, but consider all the possibilities. You can add caramelized bananas, caramel topping, whipped cream, nuts, chocolate syrup, or even strawberry pie filling.

Get ready to enjoy these easy banana waffles! They're perfect for breakfast or brunch, and the natural sweetness of bananas adds a delightful twist to classic waffles.

A clear bowl filled with the best cinnamon sugar ratio.

Looking for the perfect Cinnamon Sugar Ratio to add sweet and spice to your recipes? Learn how to make cinnamon sugar in minutes with two ingredients you probably already have. This sweet spice blend is great for toast, donuts, muffins, and so much more.

A clear bowl filled with the best cinnamon sugar ratio.
    [feast_advanced_jump_to]

There are certain foods that bring back childhood memories.  My favorite breakfast growing up was cinnamon sugar toast.

Even the thought of it takes me back to when I was little and spooning large amounts of sugar and cinnamon on top of my buttered toast.

There are so many uses for spiced sugar.  You can sprinkle it on cinnamon banana bread, make cinnamon donut holes, coat monkey bread muffins with it, or sprinkle it on Rolo cookies.

    Why Make Cinnamon Sugar Mix

Sure, it is easy to just buy a spice jar at the store. But once you see how easy it is to make your own homemade spice mix, you will never buy it at the store again.

    • Simple and Affordable - When you purchase store-bought cinnamon and sugar it costs more money. It's more economical to make your own from ingredients you already have.
    • Control the Ratio - If you prefer things a little sweeter, you can add more sugar. If you like more spice, you can add more cinnamon.
    • No Added Preservative - Sometimes store-bought cinnamon and sugar can have extra preservatives in the bottle. When you make your own there are no unwanted ingredients.
    • Fun and Creative - Making your own cinnamon sugar can be a great kitchen activity. Experiment with different sugars, different types of cinnamon, and even add in other spices or flavorings to create your own unique spice blend.

Making soup when it's cold outside is a great way to warm up. It's also such a comforting meal that makes you feel cozy.

We love having tomato soup with a loaf of garlic herb bread or grilled cheese. There is something about that classic combo that you never outgrow.

Recently, we had extra canned tomatoes in our pantry, so I made a big pot of homemade tomato soup. This tomato soup recipe ended up being an absolute hit with my family.  In fact, my husband said multiple times that this was the best soup he ever had.

Why Creamy Tomato Soup is the Best

Skip the store bought soup! Tomato soup is one of the easiest soups to make on the stove top in minutes.

    • Only 5 ingredients - These 5 fresh ingredients give this soup a bright color and vibrant flavor. It is so much better than opening a can of tomato concentrate.
    • Customizable flavor - This creamy soup can be made to your taste preferences. Feel free to adjust the cream to make it more or less rich. Add other ingredients like onions, garlic, or herbs like thyme or rosemary to enhance the flavor.
    • Wholesome and nutritious - Many store bought canned soups contain sugar, salt, preservatives, and/or artificial flavors. When you make soup at home, you have control over the ingredients and can avoid these extra additives.
    • Quick and easy - Using just a few ingredients you can have a pot of soup on the dinner table in less than 30 minutes.
    • Cost effective - It is a great way to use up extra ingredients in your kitchen or garden. Plus, you can freeze the soup base, which will save you time and money later.
